Happenings Since Armenia

I can hardly believe its almost been two months  since I last posted. It's always interesting to me to experience life with its twists and turns. Living life is never dull, it seems.

I have had eye surgery to reattach the retina of my right eye and said surgery resulted in now having a cataract that will have to be removed in the near future...but improved vision is definitely worth the effort. There has had to be a lot of "self-focus" it seems by circumstances of the medical issues, but there has also been time to focus on the family as we get together with those that are "near and dear" to our hearts. We have been able to see most of our family and are anticipating a grand reunion this summer in Oregon. We've also been able to connect with long-time friends and some of our missionary friends.

We left Armenia in the spring; flowers were blooming and the trees were blossoming. Not so in Utah! Spring seemed to take forever to come. We planted a garden, but I think the plants almost drowned and the soil was hardly warm enough to generate spouting of the seeds. But the days now (and we're inn the middle of June) are getting warmer, but not too warm which has prevented the massive flooding that had been predicted.

Stuart at Kindergarten graduation. All the students were asked to share something they learned in kindergarten that they hadn't been able to do or had not known before. Some said, "I learned to read, or count to 100, but Stuart said, "Before I came to kindergarten I didn't know what onomatopoeia was, but now I do". He is not your average 5-6 year old. Way to go Stuart!
