The month of May found us on the "go" again to visit our grandchildren (and our children, too). It's always exciting to see what they are doing and enjoy the progress they are making with their lives and within their homes.
We first went to Portland, and I must say, I don't recall a better visit, weather-wise. We had blue skies and with the azaleas and rhodies and other flowers in bloom,it was really delightful. Just so we could experience the "real" Northwest, it did rain on Sunday, the day before we returned home.
We were able to see grandchildren doing their things:Joseph (we celebrated his 15th birthday while we were there) playing a great baseball game; Jacob, 18, pole vaulting in the District meet where he took 5th place and had a personal best of 11'8" (I think). Anders,11 and Leif, 6 playing some baseball and Anders performing at a piano recital. Anna,8, was baptized by her father and we all were able participate and be part of the wonderful occasion. It was fun to see Berit,4,and Emily (our oldest grandchild at 19 and turning 20 in July).
We had a fun lunch at the Hyde home and enjoyed catching up with them and the Fuhrimans. We've known each other for about 45 years and share a lot of history. We also were able to attend a fun concert by the
Cantico Portland Chamber Singers,a choir that JaneAnne and John are a part of.
We arrived home just in time to celebrate the twins first birthday! They were so entertaining to watch as they slowly got into their celebration and we enjoyed a nice barbecue in their honor.

We were home for about 3 days (just time enough to open the mail, do some laundry, and get together with our Oregon Soiree group). We took just a picture of the girls and all the wonderful food that had been prepared. Grant R, Roger P, Roger P, Dave N, and Joe F enjoyed our outing to Logan and a visit to Grant and Shirley's home. They were wonderful hostesses.

Then we were off again, this time southward to Arizona. The weather man was looking out for us as we enjoyed temperatures for the most part that were less than 100 degrees and for several days in the80's and low 90's. We just had fun in the sun, enjoying Burke,10, Hewitt, 7, Tosh, 5 and Liv, 3.
