End of Summer 2011

We are still alive and in spite of temperatures in the upper 90's have not melted away. We're glad we're not in Texas or Arizona where they are really sweltering.

Life has become more routine, but now and then we have things happen that we want to share, so will post pictures with appropriate descriptions of our activities.

We had lots of family visiting and the grandchildren took advantage of a hot day and some sprinklers to cool off.

Not afraid to get wet!

In the sprinklers, not yet!

Next came a Father and Sons' Outing to Cascade Springs. Rog saw Patty Dunn there, but missed seeing Ron Dunn. He did capture him in a photo however.

Pretty cute grandsons

A good resting place

We went up to Park City for a few says with some of our family. R and R is always fun. It was perfect for the builder guy as he had a perfect view across the way of all the heavy equipment getting the road ready and then laying the new asphalt. It kept him entertained for hours.

D. Riding the airplanes and not wanting his picture taken

After a lunch with friends, I was lucky enough to finally be able to see our sweet, Lia! She's looking good and being a great missionary. Rog was so sad to miss seeing her, but we'll try and go again soon.

Lia and her companion from Bulgaria (I think?)

What beautiful sister missionaries

Grandpa Pete took his granddaughter on a fishing trip and she caught five and he only caught one, but we got to keep them all as Kate's family favorite dish is not trout. Kate even cut the heads and tails off, but didn't want much to do with the interior cleaning. Kate gave all the fish names (boy names) but one ended up being a girl. Oh well.
Kate and one of her "catch"

A good day for fishing. We won't discuss what they used to catch them, however. Mum's the word.
We had such a fun time when we were able to "capture" a few of the missionaries we became acquainted with while serving our mission, some Armenians we met in California who now live in Utah (Alina and Artur and 8 yr old Robert and 5 yr old Stella [they were too busy playing and not standing or sitting, so no pictures of them),  and friends who came along, as we enjoyed a perfect summer evening to make s'mores, eat snacks and catch up.

Recently called to Armenia missionaries...they'll be a great addition to the "force"
