December, A Time to Rejoice

Time seems to be flying by and it almost 2013, so I ought to get in another post even if it's a little on the less exciting level...it's life, and my life goes on in a good, if not different way. I continue to feel the love and support of family and friends, as I figure out my new way.

December always makes me contemplate Christmas and the reason we celebrate the season. Christ's birth, as celebrated in December, is a wondrous thing. Christ is our Savior, our Redeemer and our way back to our Heavenly Home. I'm so grateful for this promise of a united family forever.

I'm wishing all of you a very, Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2012
The picture includes (on the top) me and all my children, JaneAnne and David and family, Alisa, our beloved Roger, John and Julie and family, Rob and Tamsen and Family, Sue and Zach and family and Mike and Jana and family.

For my record and if you are interested here are a few of the things I've enjoyed since my last posting. I find that I am taking less pictures (maybe because I don't remember or have my camera with me...could be a New Year's resolution to do better).

In October, I enjoyed spending a week with Rob and Tamsen and their children at the Newport Coast. Their Christmas picture was taken there. It's a beautiful place to see and be. I then returned home with them to Arizona for some great family time including the baptism of grandson, Hewitt. Another week in Arizona was spent with Dave and Connie (Rog's brother and his wife) Peterson in Scottsdale where we got in a couple rounds of golf (there and in Sedona) and a fun visit to the Frank Lloyd Wright summer home, Taliesin West.

I was home for a few weeks and then we loaded the Andelin family into the car and headed back to Arizona to enjoy a week that included Thanksgiving. Alisa flew out from New York and Jana and her family also visited Arizona during the holiday so four of my children were gathered together. I have so much to be grateful for. Thank you family for a wonderful time!

Jana and Mike's picture on the Christmas card was taken while they were in Arizona. Tamsen helped me get started on a memory quilt (we used a lot of Rog's favorite t-shirts) while visiting in October and we tied the quilt during Thanksgiving time so everyone could put a few stitches in. Thanks to Tiffany Gunn, whose quilt frames we borrowed, we were able to get it done.

The first week in December, I traveled north. The weather wasn't quite as agreeable, rain instead of sun, but that's pretty typical for the Northwest this time of year. JaneAnne and John were singing in a community concert with Cantico. The music was wonderful and JaneAnne and John solo singing added much to the program.
