Harvest Time

I can't believe that another month has flown by. It always amazes me where the time goes, but then it seems I just turn around and I'm watching another sunset. I remember when I was younger that sometimes the days seemed so long and slow but now as I'm older, they go too fast and I want more time to enjoy life at this present stage.

I find that somehow I don't always record our experiences with the camera and then all I have to share are words, but I hope you can get the picture anyways.

I want you to know that while I wasn't in all the pictures (because I was the photographer, so we know whom to blame for the quality of the shots), I did go exploring in the Uintas and I did go golfing. I must admit, however, that after about a 4 year hiatus from golf, I took more swings, mulligans and foot mashies than normal. I was just a little stiff and sore, but it was fun.

We felt lucky to find both of our current Armenian sisters serving at the Salt Lake Temple Mission.

I said it was harvest time and I have had some fun with my daughter, Jana, bottling peaches and making chili sauce for the coming winter. We've also finally been able to harvest more from our garden and are enjoying its fruits (vegetables). The Armenian cucumbers are particularly prolific and we've been able to supply several friends and neighbors (we think they enjoy them).

We were able to attend our first ever Armenian Mission Reunion, put together by Presidents and Sisters Dunn and Bartholomew. It was so fun to see those young missionaries again, and some of the older ones, too, and get acquainted with those who served earlier than our time. With time, I've gotten less good remembering names so can't label them all. So, if you know who they are, or if I get it wrong, let me know.

This was a great weekend for missionaries as we all prepared to enjoy the wonderful sessions of General Conference. Before starting Saturday Conference we were also able to enjoy another missionary reunion with those we met in the California Arcadia Mission and then lastly a birthday celebration for one of the former leaders in the Armenian Group from California who now lives in Lehi.
